So, I got to thinking about this new found status of being a college student. I can’t say I don’t enjoy being able to travel freely about campus, or that I don’t love being able to explore the college campus, especially to check out places I may have missed.
The campus is only 15 minutes away from the city, but it feels like a world away. The only down side of it being so close is that it really isn’t that close. There is always something going on, either on campus, or in the city, and sometimes you can’t avoid it. I’ve actually been doing quite well with not skipping class, too. Something I didn’t expect was how it would hit me.
I’ve had a rough couple of weeks. I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into, but it certainly has been a lot of fun. The only issue I had was that first night. It was only my first day.
I never expected to feel homesick, but I did. There is no where I’d rather be than where I’m at, but I’ve missed home. I never thought I’d be this emotional over the beginning of my college experience. I don’t think it is going to stop now.
There is one more thing I want to share about, though. As you know, I’ve been doing quite a bit of traveling. I’ve also been going to the dining halls. I can honestly say I’m not a fan of the dining halls. I mean, they are great, but, some times I get a bit homesick. be359ba680
